Application trials starts at MASiP Pipe Technology Centre

MASiP Pipe Technology application trials have started in July at the new purpose-built pipe test and field trial centre in Yorkshire, UK for further developing this innovative technology. The ongoing field trials in collaboration with pipeline operators support the user specific calibration of MASiP Pipe System technology for addressing early adoption pipe replacement applications like High Consequence Area (HCA), Unpiggable sections, Third Party Damage, Hydrogen service, etc. and a wide range of pipeline safety critical issues.

MASiP (Mobile Automated Spiral Interlocking Pipe), uses a lighter and more flexible pipe structure including embedded optical fibre, with automated mobile manufacturing to produce and install continuous pipe directly into a trench, delivering a digital pipeline system with a built-in capability to self-monitor its health condition and protect itself from unintentional intrusions or malicious attacks. The MASiP pipeline system technology has an endorsement from DNV GL and various durability trials has been completed successfully with National Grid, UK.
